Pranav’s wish to meet Vishwanathan Anand

An encounter with a Master Chess Player

Pranav Chauhan’s story is proof to the enormous influence, a wish can have on the lives of children facing severe health challenges. Currently residing in Tamil Nadu, Pranav recently completed his B. Tech in Biotechnology and is now engaged in an MS research program at CLR, focusing on cancer drug development and organ creation. His journey is marked by remarkable achievements and a passion for chess, a game he not only excels in but also teaches to others through his own chess academy.

Pranav’s life took a challenging turn when he was diagnosed with Kidney failure. Amidst the struggle and uncertainty, he had a wish that seemed both simple and monumental: to meet Mr. Viswanathan Anand, the world chess champion. Chess was not just a game for Pranav; it was a source of joy and a field in which he dreamed of achieving greatness.

In 2015, within just 20 days of identifying, Pranav’s dream come true. Meeting Mr. Viswanathan Anand and playing a game with him was a pivotal moment in Pranav’s life. This experience did not just fulfil a wish; it ignited a spark within him, motivating him to pursue his passion for chess with renewed vigor. Today, Pranav is a successful chess coach, guiding young minds and nurturing their love for the game in his own chess academy.

But Pranav’s journey doesn’t end there. His ambition and dedication extend to the field of cancer biology. Now a part of CSIR, Pranav is working tirelessly towards becoming a cancer biologist scientist. He tests drugs, secures funding through his academy, and contributes to the advancement of cancer research. His work in this field holds the promise of breakthroughs that could benefit countless lives.

Pranav credits Make-A-Wish India for bringing him closer to his dreams. The organization provided him with an experience that not only brought immense joy but also instilled a sense of purpose and determination. Reflecting on the impact of his wish, Pranav acknowledges how this pivotal moment helped shape his journey, both as a chess enthusiast and a budding scientist.

The story of Pranav Chauhan exemplifies the profound difference which can make in the lives of children facing life-threatening illnesses. By granting wishes, they offer more than just moments of happiness; they provide the inspiration and motivation that can set the course for a brighter future.
