VIJAY'S DAY OUT!
Vijay Rathore, a simple, shy and a sweet boy was very excited on this very special Friday (21.11.08) morning because our volunteers were going to fulfill his wish to visit the famous Kankaria Zoo and Lake at Ahmedabad. The sight of the zoo by the lake had already filled Vijay with excitement. The elephants, the angry tiger, ferocious roaring Lion, beautiful Flamingos, the elegant deers and many more overwhelmed him. Adding to his happiness was the view of the huge and clean lake of Kankaria. The boat ride was indeed a memorable experience altogether especially as he could capture the entire day with a camera gifted to him by Make-A-Wish® Foundation of India. The quiet Vijay was truly happy and left full of joy and hope to return yet again with his family and friends to capture many more mesmerizing moments of his little world of dreams and wishes.

Parth flies at last….
Parth is a 15-year-old boy studying at the Spastic Society of India at Bandra. From the onset he seemed like a very nice and simple boy. Talking to him despite his speech impairment was never a problem, which is why when he expressed his wish of visiting Kulu Manali during his summer vacations. During our volunteer’s conversation with Parth, he had often mentioned that he also wished to fly in an aeroplane. But we guess Parth got more than he wished for because thanks to his Excellency, Justice Kokje, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Parth was treated as a State Guest at the Raj Bhavan. He and his family were thrilled to bits when they were told that they were going to be put up at the Circuit House and will be given a “ lal batti wali gaddi”( a car for the VIP’s). The entire efficient staff at the Raj Bhavan treated Parth as a very “special guest” and made sure that Parth’s trip to Kulu Manali would be the most memorable ever.
Parth was surprised yet again when he was flown in from Delhi back home with his family.
When we met Parth again, he just could not stop talking about his “fun trip” to Kulu Manali and the twinkle in his eyes said it all.
